Day 204: Fingerdrag works like Magic

Calli- Some swimming drills can correct a stroke automatically! In the video Jose is doing the fingerdrag. This drill helps with the arm exit and entry in freestyle. You are supposed to drag your fingers through the water out in front of you. By doing this you are forcing your elbow to be the first thing out of the water and it picks up your hand and guides it into the water in front of you. If you want to see this video on youtube, click here.

Jose: Even though Calli normally gives me a hard workout to do, she also helps me a little bit by skipping the parts that I don´t enjoy that much. That was over last night when we went to train at the gym during a regular swimming class with the gym trainer. For almost 1500 mts he kicked my ass with the worst (hardest) / best (to improve) workout I´ve done. Even Calli felt it was hard. Now try to imagine me! My neck will pass me the bill tomorrow for those 150 mts of kicking. I think these workouts can be amazingly beneficial for us heading to the Cedar Point Tri next september. I´m very excited, so keep them coming…

Day 201: Barefoot Running

Running barefoot has been one of the most popular trends in running recently. Why? There are so many high tech running shoes that help and add t to your foot and strike. Or do they? What are the best shoes for running? Or should you just leave the shoes behind?

Day 166 – Enchanted Minds

What can be the difference between successful people and regular people? Sometimes it can be money or even it can be luck, but real leaders and people who succeed have in their minds a sense of determination and self confidence that makes them winners since the minute they get up.
This winner attitude is the mental strength that each of us need to achieve our maximum potential and become better every day. However, you need to train your brain for this too. You need to teach and convince yourself that you are a winner. In every single aspect of our lives a winner’s mentality will make a difference between a leader and the rest of the people.
We have been following Anthony Robbins for a while now. We have used some of his quotes over here and that’s because he knows exactly how to be a leader and how to make other leaders. In this video he talks a little bit (only 8 minutes) about all these aspects to have in mind. If you didn’t know Ton Robbins it’s about time that you get familiar with him because his conferences are great, and if you already know who is he, then you know very well that I’m not lying and you should continue looking for his videos to get inspire.
I decided to make this one a Motivation Friday, because sometimes we focus so much on training our bodies that we forget that without a strong winner’s mind, we can loose the race in the very first step. So train your mind too! If you are willing to get up every single day to train for running, swimming and/or biking, then you have for sure a strong mind. Just make sure that it understand that the body that is training belongs to a mind that will win on that first step.

Day 164 – A Few More To Show

A few months ago we posted about flip turns and how I was learning the basics, however once we change the training pool then we forgot about it and Calli showed me the quick open turn which I have been using as an effective way of swimming continuously at the pool. Now that I feel that I’m getting all the swimming stuff better, then I dusted my flip turns small knowledge and started applying it by myself since Calli is not around for now. I have been watching videos like the one I’m sharing today that is actually the 4th out of a series of 5, brought to us by Go Swim. Of course by looking very carefully at the videos you can get a better idea than by just hearing instructions. I will definitely not need this technique for open water, but I can say that after 6 months of real swimming I enjoy it so much that I want to keep learning and doing everything about it. Now off to bed because I have a test tomorrow morning… wish me luck because I might need it! Thanks for reading!
