Day 34: Brisk Evening

Day 34: Brisk Evening

Calli: Today I had a nice buddy swim with my mom. My set was as follows: 250 Streamline Flutter Kick (on back), 350 Freestyle Pull, 12 25′s Freestyle (first 6 on 45 sec, second 6 on 35sec; I definitely can push myself harder next time on these because I had too much down time and it was supposed to be Zone 3), 350 Freestyle Pull, and 250 Streamline Kick (on back). It goes fairly quick when I follow a pattern or a set. Going into the kicks today my ankle and knee were feeling a little bit tweeked, but the water always works it out. This low contact sport is what gave me my weak joints in the first place, but it sure is good for recovery too.

Jose- Unfortunately the race for this morning was cancelled. It was like it never existed. They only kept a 1mi race for kids. Since I planned to run today I did it anyways. I made a 5.5 km run just for fun. It took me 26:26 minutes and I checked when I was at the 5km mark and I had 24:08 minutes. That’s actually good! I ran at a pace a little bit higher that 5 min/km. I felt good and even though my leg was still tense, it was not a problem during the route. I still need to reduce 4+ minutes, but I’m on the right track! Tomorrow is IRONMAN day! I’m very excited about the experience. I took some pictures and I will take more and I’ll make sure to share those on the Facebook account! Stay tuned: it will be good stuff! Finally I bought a few things for racing. Pictures will also come next week. Enjoy your weekend!!
